Polygel
How do I correctly apply polygel?
We have a detailed instruction page with tips and tricks + videos on how to correctly apply our polygel for optimal and long-lasting results.
The gel is difficult to get out of the tube, are there any tips?
Our polygel can become firmer or more flexible depending on the temperature. If you find it difficult to get the gel out of the tube, we advise placing the tube in a glass of lukewarm/warm water for a few minutes. The gel will become softer, making it easier to apply.
Storage advice: Always store the tubes in a dry, dark place. So not directly in sunlight or near a window.
Do I need a primer?
No, primer is not a required product to create beautiful nails. However, with primer, you can better prepare your nails, allowing them to adhere better and extend their durability.
They break quickly for me, how is this possible?
Sorry to hear that you're not satisfied with the adhesion. If the application goes flawlessly, they are guaranteed to last 3+ weeks.
Some tips for maximum results:
- Prepare your nails well by pushing back the cuticles, filing away hooks, and roughening the nail surface with a file and degreasing it.
- Always use the base coat and possibly even the primer on top of the base coat. (Cure both under the lamp)
- Use nail tips that just fit around your own nail.
- Place the tip with gel from your cuticle towards the end, so the gel spreads well in length and then secure with a clamp. Without first releasing the tip. This prevents air between the gel and your own nail.
- Cure once more after you have removed the tip.
- File your nails gently in one direction before applying the topcoat.
- It remains an extension of your own nail, and adhesion is key, despite this, you should always be alert to snagging on clothing, etc.
Good luck!
I bite my nails, is polygel suitable then?
Absolutely, our polygel is especially suitable for nail biters because it helps prevent biting. So not only do you have beautiful nails afterward, but you also break a bad habit. It's a win-win :)
Can you apply polygel without extending nail tips?
Yes, polygel can be used in various ways, including without nail tips. You can simply place it over your own nails and build it up in layers.
However, working with nail tips is recommended because you always get a very nice even finish. You can decide how long you make them, so just use less gel so they don't become much longer than you want.
If your nails have turned out longer than desired, you can easily trim them with a nail clipper.
How long do polygel nails last?
Our polygel contains a very strong formula and with the right methods, they adhere for 3+ weeks.
If they come off quickly, something went wrong during the application. The main causes of this are; air under the gel, not sufficiently cured, uneven dust-free nails before application, or no base coat or primer used.
See our detailed instructions here. Give it a chance to learn it properly, so you can have beautiful nails forever, without expensive salons.
Is a lamp necessary for polygel?
Yes, polygel always needs to be cured under an LED/UV lamp. The higher the wattage, the faster and better they cure.
Should it be cured with an LED or UV lamp?
Both are fine, LED is just known to cure a bit better, become less warm, and is more durable.
Does it contain harmful ingredients?
No, our polygel is TPO and HEMA free, cruelty-free, and vegan and is safe to use. Consult our ingredients list here.
If you are unsure about its use, we recommend doing a test with a dermatologist to find out if you are allergic to certain substances and if so, which ones.
Can I paint over polygel with gel polish or regular nail polish?
Yes, this is perfectly fine and is done by many women. We recommend using a solid base color such as clear or white daisy for the best result.
