Poly gel
How do I apply polygel correctly?
We have a detailed instruction page with tips and tricks + videos on how to correctly apply our polygel for optimal and long-lasting results.
The gel is difficult to get out of the tube, are there any tips for this?
Our polygel can become a bit firmer or more flexible depending on the temperature. If you have difficulty getting the gel out of the tube, we recommend placing the tube in a glass of lukewarm/warm water for a few minutes. The gel becomes softer, making it easier to apply.
Storage advice : Always store the tubes in a dry, dark place. So not directly in sunlight or near a window.
In my case they break off quickly, how does this happen?
Sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with the bonding. If the application goes smoothly, they are guaranteed to last 3+ weeks.
Some tips for maximum results:
- Prepare your nails well by pushing back the cuticles, filing away hooks and roughening the nail surface with a file and degreasing it.
- Always use the base coat and possibly even the primer on top of the base coat. (Both harden under the lamp)
- Use nail tips that just fit around your own nail.
- Place the tip with gel from your cuticle towards the end, so that the gel is well spread lengthwise and then secure with a clamp. Without first letting go of the tip. This way you prevent air between the gel and your own nail.
- Harden once extra after you have removed the tip.
- Gently file your nails in one direction before applying the top coat.
- It remains an extension of your own nail and adhesion is the key, but you should always remain alert to snags behind clothing, etc.
Good luck!
I bite my nails, is polygel suitable?
Yes, our polygel is extremely suitable for nail biters, because it helps prevent biting. This way you will not only have beautiful nails, but you will also unlearn a bad habit. So win win :)
Can you also apply polygel without lengthening nail tips?
Yes, polygel can be used in a wide variety of ways, including without nail tips. You can simply place it over your own nails and build it up in layers.
On the other hand, working with nail tips is recommended, because you always get a very nice, even finish. You can decide how long you make them, so just use less gel so they don't end up much longer than you want.
If your nails are longer than desired, you can easily trim them with nail clippers.
How long do polygel nails last?
Our polygel contains a very strong formula and with the right methods they adhere for 3+ weeks.
If they come off quickly, something went wrong during the application. The main causes of this are; air under the gel, not sufficiently hardened, no smooth, dust-free nails for application or no base coat or primer used.
View our detailed instructions here. Also give it the opportunity to learn it well, so that you can have beautiful nails forever, without expensive salons.
Is a lamp necessary with polygel?
Yes, polygel must always be cured under an LED/UV lamp. The higher the wattage, the faster and better they harden.
Does it need to be cured with an LED or UV lamp?
Both are fine, LED is just known for curing better, getting less hot and being more durable.
Does it contain harmful ingredients?
No, our polygel is HEMA free, cruelty free and vegan and is safe to use. Consult our ingredients list here.
If you have any doubts about its use, we recommend taking a test with a dermatologist to find out whether you are allergic to certain substances and, if so, which ones.
Can I topcoat polygel with gellac or regular nail polish?
Yes, this is possible and is done by many ladies. In this case, we recommend using an even base color such as clear or white daisy for the best result.
